Pure Tea Review

I know this is a fashion blog, but food can also be fashionable. In fact, the product I am reviewing today was actually a gift from London Fashion Week.. does it get more fashionable? Anyway, so as I said at LFW, Sasha and I were given some lovely gifts and one of them was some Pure Tea tea bags. I don't drink coffee, but I love tea. Herbal or 'normal', I'm not really fussed, but I love to experiment with new flavours.
I received three flavours in our pack: Citrus Spice, Organic Green and Bombay Chai, however I have only trailed the Citrus Spice and I loved it!
The Citrus Spice flavour contains 100% natural and organic produce. The ingredients are: rooibos, lemon peel, orange peel, lemon verbena, licorice root and marigold flowers. It's an odd, but definitely balanced combination. The flavour of the tea as a whole is warm, not heavily spiced, and comforting.

As far as I know you can't buy these in the UK, so as a replacement I bought Twinnings Mandarin and Ginger and the flavour is much to 'spiced' for me. I know this is a bit random, but I hope you liked it!

A lovely gift

A got the most lovely gift today. I was first super excited to FINALLY get some post here at uni, so when I opened it you can guess I was more than ecstatic.  As you know I am a huge fan of make-up, and really appreciate quality of product. With my clothes (although I study fashion) I am quite happy to buy from high street stores, as I feel it's not always about what you wear it's how you wear it. And one bad outfit wont cause any physical damage. When it comes to skin-care and make up, one bad product can have drastically negative affects on your skin. And this isn't always from cheapy products. Lancome's Teint Mircale costs nearly £30, and it wrecked my skin. My skin is still damaged from that product, and it has been nearly a month since I used it.
So anyway, enough of the rambling. I am in love with my MAC products, but no-one can deny that Bobbi Brown is one of the greatest make-up artists living. When I opened the package this is what I found:
I was all excited because as soon as I saw the yellow bag in the parcel it was going to be something amazing! I received the Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder.
I got the shade Soft Sand 5, because although I am usually an ivory base (NC15 for all you MAC lovers), this shade worked perfectly for me. Look how proffesional the case is!
The compact comes with a sponge applicator, a huge mirror and the powder. Perfect for on the go applications. I have found that my make-up tends to slide off because the tube is SOO hot at peak times- so this product will be absolutely perfect!

Nails Inc Treatment Kit

When I went for a manicure last week at the Nails Inc Champagne Bar in Harvey Nichols, I had quite a shock. I was under the impression that my nails were relatively healthy as they are quite long and strong. Apparantly my nails are actually dry and damaged, the same as my hair is. This is a really odd concept for me, so in order to treat this I purchased their "very dry and damaged nails" solution kit.
In the kit you get A&E Base Coat, Albert Bridge Top Coat, a four way file and buffer, nail and cuticle oil and an express nail polish remover wipe.
I would highly recommend this kit. My nails felt better, although I never realized there was a problem. The nail oil pen is enriched with vitamin E so it keeps treating the cuticle and nail even after you have applied nail polish.
I then used Basil Street, which is a beautiful nude colour. What do you guys think?

An Innovation for Fashion

When the new collections are released in September and February, I often find that although the designs change I am never seeing anything new. I know that sounds incredibly pessimistic, but in very basic terms (fabric being fabric, buttons being buttons and ribbon being ribbon) is there really a difference between a Valentino and a Galliano? Between Largerfeld and Donatella Versace?
On Monday, I attended a fashion show at The Imperial College London. It was an exclusive event, and myself and two friends were very lucky to gain three tickets. After enjoying two glasses of champagne and some tasty nibbles, we were entertained and entranced by something that is completely new to fashion: spray on fabric. Allow me to explain; think of when you were younger, and around Halloween you would have silly string that sprayed from a can. Scientists have been building on this theory for 10 years to create spray on fabric, with the eventual outcome being liquid cotton. Designers can create an entire outfit from one spray can, rather than miles of fabric. Here are some photos so you can believe it when you see it:
This is the biggest innovation in fashion since the creation of Lycra. The product is versatile, and can be adapted to the designers needs. This combination of fashion and science has been around for an exceptionally long time. In the Victorian era, science provided fashion the ability to dye fabrics synthetically with the invention of Mauvine. Now Mendel Torris has created spray on fabric.
The 'collection', seemed incredibly up-to-date as white is a huge trend for next years SS11 collections. The dresses were very structured, yet natural seeming as they flowed down the runway. In short, the collection was calm, clean, pure and fluid. It reminded me heavily of Rodarte's collections for SS2010.
Please check this out all over the internet because it is going to be the next big thing in fashion.

Twenty8Twelve SS 11

As far as celebrity collections go, there are very few that are particularly successful. To name a few that have really made in it fashion you cannot miss out Sienna Miller and her sisters label Twenty8Twelve. Their SS collection is incredibly wearable, and although it doesn't really show us anything we haven't seen before, their combinations are very pretty and easy to wear. Here is a selection from the show:
These dresses just work excellently on the models, and seem perfect for summer. What bugs me is that they are very similar to dresses we wore this summer... hmm.
My favourite looks from the collection. 1) I love this slouchy day wear outfit. Boyish yet ultimately feminine. 2) The most amazing dress of the collection. So much detail and the panels of colour work together brilliantly. 3) My favourite work-wear piece. The colour for SS11 is white, so this is BOT.

And these dresses were chosen by my flat-mate. She is aiming to become a Fashion Buyer after uni, so these are a fashion buyers choices from the collection.
I hope you like this post and are glad I've finally done some more runway reviews. I am hoping to catch the Topshop Unique show, as they are showing 5 times over LFW. OH! And I will be doing several beauty reviews in the next few weeks too.
